New-Concept EWP(SSL/SSB) – Stitched Strand Lumber (SSL) / Stitched Strand Board (SSB) is an innovative engineered wood product manufactured by cutting wood veneers (including full-size veneers, random-width veneers, and waste veneers) into modular long strands along the grain direction. These strands are then dried, randomized, and reorganized into layered wood curtain units. The production process includes adhesive application (or impregnation), layered assembly, hot pressing, curing, and post-processing. This technology has been granted a Chinese invention patent (ZL202010222837.6).
The SSL/SSB product series fully utilizes domestically abundant fast-growing timber resources such as small-diameter or low-quality poplar, eucalyptus, and rubberwood, as well as bamboo, significantly improving raw material utilization and adaptability. This enables highly efficient and high-value use of raw materials.

By reorganizing the strand units, defects affecting strength—such as knots, insect holes, and decay—are removed or dispersed, ensuring full orientation of the long strands and discretization of heartwood and sapwood in the layered units. This effectively enhances the uniformity and physical-mechanical properties of the panels.
Through structural design, the spacing between the long strands (or the gap rate of the wood curtains) can be flexibly adjusted. Different layered units (including bamboo curtains) are used for structural recombination to improve the strength-to-weight ratio, enabling customizable design and achieving true lightweight yet high-strength performance.
The introduction of the curtain-like structure significantly reduces energy consumption during drying and hot pressing, improves bonding quality and manufacturing efficiency, and further lowers production costs.
Depending on product specifications and thickness, this patented product series is green, low-carbon, lightweight, and high-strength, offering strong market competitiveness and broad application prospects.
